Top Quality Concrete Surfaces Flush Element Joints with VARIO VKS Coupling
The St. Canisius parishioners in Berlin needed a new meeting place after their church had been destroyed by fire. The modern reinforced concrete design is characterised by exact, defined requirements placed on the visible concrete surfaces.
Apart from regularly arranged plywood joints, another consideration was how to harmonise tie positions and construction joints. Furthermore, the strict evenness tolerances according to DIN 18202 had to also be taken into consideration. With VARIO GT 24, the contractors found the optimal system to meet all the requirements. Materials totalling 540 m² were used and quantitative and qualitative targets were achieved with first-class results.
The VARIO VKS coupling for architectural concrete provided neat and accurate element joints by compensating recesses of up to 5 mm.
