$ 17 Million Worth of Formwork on Mega-Site
Applications for a huge Variety of PERI Formwork on Berlin''s Potsdam Square
Famous buildings, like the Fürstenhof and Esplanade Hotels, once well known historical meeting locations, made the Potsdamer Platz renown as a place of renewal and change. About $ 4,5 Billion of private and public money is being ploughed into this old heart of Berlin to renew the famous location, which has lain fallow for decades.
A “city of the future“, is now taking shape on the world''s largest inner-city site. It is complete with infrastructure including regional and mainline railways, road tunnels, offices, housing, schools, theaters, hotels and warehouses.
The structural contractors are faced with a variety of complex formwork problems which are compounded by very limited working space. The small working space limits storage and distribution of equipment and formwork materials. Consequently, the importance of planning labor and deployment for efficient erection on short notice becomes paramount and requires a close working partnership with the formwork supplier.
PERI Formwork Systems has accepted the challenge. The formwork required is worth over $ 17 Million. With parallel planning and just-in-time preassembly, PERI is supporting the contractor''s efforts to achieve an efficient construction sequence.
