Czerniakowska Intersection, Warsaw, Poland
Efficient Construction Process and Uninterrupted Traffic Flow
Warsaw’s road network is gradually being upgraded to meet the demands of a modernday European city. Part of the Czerniakowska intersection are two viaducts: the 430 m long, 11.90 m wide CE-2 structure which links the city with the Ursynow district and the 600 m long, 14.60 m high CE-3, which connects the exit on the Siekierkowski Bridge with the Wilanow suburb.
VARIO GT 24 girder wall formwork, TRIO panelized wall formwork and SRS steel circular column formwork were used to meet the requirements placed by the architect for the concrete surface finish of the viaduct piers.
The pre-stressed hollow box construction for the superstructure was formed with VARIO GT 24 and MULTIFLEX. Shoring, made of ST 100 stacking towers, safely transfered the loads.
Through the use of HD 200 heavy duty props and standard main beams, the “modular construction system” allowed an uninterrupted flow of traffic during the whole time construction work was carried out.
According to the site management, this extraordinary achievement by PERI was complimented by reliable material logistics as well as comprehensive project support from PERI Warsaw.
