Hydraulic shuttering and stripping:
Easy to operate modular formwork carriage

The expansion of the former B 301 Suedrand Street as an expressway connecting the A2 and A4 motorways will considerably ease the traffic situation in the southern districts of Vienna. The 16 km long road between Voesendorf and Schwechat requires five tunnels totalling around 4 km. For construction of the longest – 1,880 metres – the contractors are relying on PERI know-how in the entrance/exit areas (360 m and 223 m).

The double-tube rectangular cross-sections are being constructed using the cut and cover, semi-monolithic method with each tunnel having two lanes.

After concreting the transverselyinclined bottom plate in sections, the centre wall is formed in 15.00 m segments using VARIO girder wall formwork.

This is followed by two modular formwork carriages for the walls and slabs whereby shuttering and stripping are done hydraulically. Integrated heavy-duty rollers allow easy movement to the next casting segment. Adjusting the formwork carriages to the widened tunnel areas is carried out cost-effectively by means of GT 24 lattice girders and MULTIPROP props – these are moved together with the carriages from cycle to cycle.
