Faster than Scheduled and Optimally Safe
Perfect Reinforced Concrete Construction
Already in the basement levels of the midrise office and hotel buildings PERI had performed convincingly through the use of TRIO wall formwork and pre-assembled slab tables. In the stairwells, the walls remained exposed. Trapezoidal reveals and pre-determined tie positions fashioned the architectural concrete throughout the five floors. Steel stairs and landings were installed later. TRIO Structure combined with TRIO wall formwork on KG 180 climbing brackets were responsible for an excellent surface finish. The mounting locations of the climbing formwork were hidden in the tie positions.
For both office towers, each having 1,000 m² ground area, SKYDECK aluminium panelized slab formwork was the chosen solution. Due to the structural steelwork, sufficient material for two storey slabs per building was necessary. Often, the next slab was already shuttered only a few hours after finishing the previous one.
For safe working conditions at great heights and in the floors below as well as because of the close proximity of a motorway, Strabag chose the enclosure method proposed by the PERI engineers. The approx. 10 m-high Climbing Protection Panel CPP provided safe working conditions with its 2 m high enclosure around the working area. The setting and striking levels below are completely enclosed so that they can be heated in the winter months. The enclosure secures mainly against uncontrolled striking and prevents the wind from drying out the fresh concrete too quickly.
After a total construction time of almost 22 months, the occupants of the buildings can enjoy a view over the whole of Munich and far beyond to the Alps.
