Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv, Israel
Facade Formation with VARIO GT 24 Clearly Arranged Join and Tie Positions in the Wall
Israel''s gateway to the world, the Ben Gurion International Airport, is situated 20 km southeast of Tel Aviv and approx. 50 km from Jerusalem. The increasing number of passengers and the need to improve airport services, prompted the operators to carry out an extensive re-development programme. With the completion of Terminal 3, covering an area of over 270,000 m², around 16 million passengers a year can be handled.
For the numerous reinforced concrete structures within the individual buildings, formwork and shoring systems were needed that allowed the contractors to meet the strict requirements regarding the tight construction schedule and the surface finishes on the visible concrete sections. On the basis of VARIO GT 24 girder wall formwork, PERI Israel provided various solutions for an economical realisation of the contractual obligations. Horizontal box outs facilitated the exact positioning of the tie positions, and the smooth transition from straight to rounded wall sections ensured perfect facade finishes.

Arch. Mishael Talmor Project Manager “Due to its engineering services and practicable formwork solution, we decided in favour of PERI. In spite of the tight schedule and strict requirements from the architect, with the allround VARIO formwork system we could produce high quality fairfaced concrete surfaces.”
