The Nile City Projekt, Cairo, Egypt
Smooth construction sequence through teamwork between the formwork planning and the site
Situated directly on the shores of the Nile, an impressive project is being constructed in a planned time schedule of around 42 months. There will be altogether 250,000 m² floor space created for offices, apartments, an hotel, a shopping mall, restaurants and a cinema.
In cooperation with the planning office of Besix in Brussels, PERI produced extensive formwork drawings that, apart from the timely delivery of the materials ordered, were the basis for the smooth and economical construction sequence.
The same principle was used for the three main areas, North, South and Hotel tower: the lift and stairwell cores stiffening the building climb in advance of the slabs by two to three floors. VARIO GT 24 girder wall formwork is used on CBC 240 climbing brackets for this. A proven system in which formwork and brackets are lifted from floor to floor in one unit thus saving crane capacity as well.
Construction is ahead of the time schedule and the four-day cycle planned for the normal floors was achieved. Around 7,500 m³ of concrete is poured into the formwork month for month.
