Three weeks construction time saved MULTIPROP system used for roof construction
The five, almost identical individual buildings of the Media-Park, are arranged in a semi-circle with a radius of 108 m around a virtual centre-point. They provide working space for 450 to 500 people.
The MULTIPROP system was erected on a temporary platform constructed of ST 100 stacking towers in the areas of the curved, trapezoidal shaped roof surfaces and for the cantilevered slab perimeters. The MULTIPROP system was hired to supplement the contractors'' own ST 100 material resulting in a technically perfect and cheap solution.

A slab table formwork was chosen that replicates the curved shape because of the 108 m radius of the roof. The site pre-assembled large MULTIPROP table units of about 9 m² in size to shorten the formwork times. These could be easily transported in complete units because of the highly stiffened frames. |
A special difficulty in this building was the horizontal forces occurring from the construction work. These forces were transferred exclusively by standard PERI parts, which also led to a cheaper solution for the contractor. |
Tie rods were used to transfer the horizontal forces into the reinforced concrete floors below. |
Two falsework and formwork sets were made for the two construction sections, which led to an ideal construction time. The seven weeks construction time originally planned for the roof could be reduced to four weeks. |
