Power Station Chimney, Piacenza, Italy
Internal formwork and internal platforms climb together hydraulically with ACS-G on a 65 m high power station chimney
For producing electrical energy the town of Piacenza invested in a power station plant that will burn waste products. The filtered exhaust gases will be led away through a 65 m high chimney that was to be constructed with in situ reinforced concrete. With an external diameter of 4.90 m and wall thickness of 250 mm, a fair-faced surface of high quality is to be created that is to be treated only with a final coat of paint.
PERI convinced the Construction Consortium with a formwork concept on the basis of the ACS-G System, climbing without the use of a crane. G stands for gallows and provides the personnel with a generous freedom of movement and free access to working levels and climbing scaffolds, as well as a high degree of safety.
After the initial fortnightly climbing cycles the working cycles were able to be further reduced, enabling the completion of three concreting cycles per week.
